Project SafeTron
Safetron is an innovative Advanced Driver Assistance System designed to enhance road safety for heavy-duty commercial vehicles. Utilizing cutting-edge IoT technologies, Safetron combines a Raspberry Pi and Arduino to monitor driver drowsiness, detect nearby obstacles, and measure cabin conditions such as temperature and humidity.

01
Driver Drowsiness Detection
The driver drowsiness detection system in Safetron uses a webcam and OpenCV for real-time facial monitoring, analyzing eye blinks and head movements to detect signs of fatigue. By leveraging machine learning algorithms, the system alerts the driver when prolonged eye closure or nodding is detected, helping prevent accidents caused by drowsiness and ensuring safer journeys on the road.
02
Object Proximity
The object proximity sensor in Safetron uses an ultrasonic sensor to detect obstacles in the vehicle's path. This sensor emits ultrasonic waves, which bounce back upon hitting an object, and calculates the distance based on the time taken for the echo to return. Integrated with an Arduino, the system processes real-time data to alert drivers of nearby obstacles, reducing the risk of collisions and ensuring safer driving.

03

Climate Monitoring
The climate monitoring feature in Safetron uses a DHT11 sensor to track cabin temperature and humidity levels, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for truck drivers. The DHT11 is a reliable, low-cost sensor that integrates seamlessly with the system's Raspberry Pi and Arduino, providing real-time data. This information helps drivers stay aware of extreme conditions that could lead to fatigue, enhancing safety and overall driving performance.
